Privacy Policy for PureAno

This Privacy Policy explains how the PureAno mobile application ("PureAno", "the app", "we", "us") handles information. PureAno is developed by Michael Watson. By using PureAno you agree to the practices described here.

We built PureAno to collect as little as possible. We do not require an account, and we do not collect your name, email, or any personal profile information. The only information leaving your device is what our advertising provider (Google AdMob) needs to show ads.

1. Information we collect

a) Information you provide

None that leaves your device. PureAno has no sign-in or registration. Any content you create or import — MIDI files, audio files you convert, songs, scores, settings, streaks, and practice history — is stored only locally on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or have any access to it.

b) Information collected automatically by third-party advertising

PureAno displays ads through Google AdMob (Google's mobile advertising service). To serve and measure ads, the AdMob SDK may collect and process:

• your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID);
• device information (e.g. device model, operating-system version, language, general/coarse region);
• IP address;
• ad-interaction data (e.g. which ads were shown, viewed, or tapped).

This information is collected by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's own privacy policy. We do not receive your Advertising ID or any of the above in a form that identifies you.

c) On-device processing (no upload)

PureAno's audio-to-MIDI conversion runs entirely on your device. Audio and MIDI files you import or convert are never sent to us or any server — they are processed locally and stored locally.

d) Device permissions

PureAno may request access to files you explicitly select (to import MIDI or audio). Those files are read and processed on-device only. PureAno does not access your location, contacts, camera, or microphone for recording.

2. How information is used

• To show advertising. Google AdMob uses the data in Section 1(b) to serve and measure ads (personalized where permitted, otherwise non-personalized) and to detect fraud and abuse.
• To make the app work. Your locally stored content and settings are used only to provide the app's features (playback, scoring, practice history) on your device.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Sharing of information

We do not share your information with third parties except as follows:

• Google AdMob / Google Play Services — receives the advertising data in Section 1(b) to provide advertising and core platform services.

4. Your choices and rights

• Opt out of personalized ads / reset your Advertising ID. On Android, go to Settings → Google → Ads to opt out of ad personalization or reset your Advertising ID.
• Consent (EEA/UK). Where required, PureAno presents a consent choice for personalized advertising through Google's consent tooling. You can change your choice in the app's settings where available.
• California (CCPA/CPRA) and EEA/UK (GDPR). Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, delete, or restrict processing of personal information, and to opt out of "sale"/"sharing" of personal information. Because we do not hold identifiable information about you ourselves, most such requests regarding advertising data should be directed to Google. You may also contact us using Section 8.
• Delete your data. All app content is stored locally. Uninstalling PureAno removes all locally stored data from your device.

5. Data retention

We do not store your personal data on our servers (we operate none). Locally stored content persists on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Advertising data is retained by Google according to Google's policies.

6. Children's privacy

PureAno is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app's ad partner, contact us and we will work with Google to address it.

7. Security

Because PureAno keeps your content on your own device and we operate no accounts or servers, the main protection of your data is your device's own security. Data transmitted for advertising is handled by Google over encrypted connections.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and posting the revised policy on this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
